How to Logon to The PUB

If you are a member of the Ottawa PC Users Group, you can gain access to The PUB. But that does not necessarily mean that you have full access now. Your PUB II account must be upgraded to member status, and this is not automatic. You must leave a message to the indicating you are an OPCUG member. Include your full name, OPCUG membership number (if known), address, and phone number and your request for full access to The PUB.

Non-members and visitors must create an account. This is free and provides limited access to The PUB. You will be prompted for your name and a password to gain access.

If you are an OPCUG member and already have a The PUB account, use one of the login buttons. If this fails and you already have a The PUB account, create a new account or contact the and he can re-establish your account. In either case, you will have to provide the with your full name, OPCUG membership number (if known), address, and phone number so that he may give you full access.

Note that there are two login buttons. The one labelled Login with Wildcat! Navigator is for those who have the Wildcat! Navigator Client. This is the recomended client access to The PUB. The button labelled Login with Netscape or Explorer is for people using a browser without the benefit of the Wildcat! Navigator.

All users have write-access to the "Message to Sysop" message area. If you have Internet e-mail access, you can also send an to the sysop.

OPCUG Members:
Leaving a message to the SYSOP from within The PUB:
If you are leaving a message to the Sysop in PUB II, make sure you leave it in conference area 0.

Click on the"Ceate New" button. In the fields provided, enter the following information:

To: Sysop
Subject: The PUB account
Conference: 0 - Private e-mail (this is the default)

Body: (In this box, enter your full name, OPCUG membership number (if known), address, and phone number, and your request for full access to PUB II).
